#WMF2108 VIDEO CONTEST

Participants were asked to create a short video clip to describe Manufacturing and Digital revolution.

General Info

  • Eligible Participants: Freelance video makers, universities, schools (over 16 students), operators of the creative industry from all around the world.

  • Ineligible Participants: Sponsors of the World Manufacturing Forum, World Manufacturing Forum Foundation members and partners and communication agencies.

General Rules

  • 3 minute length maximum; english language (audio or subtitles if expected).

  • Videos must be sent in standard resolution or high resolution and, if applicable, with suitable sound quality. The finalists will be expected to provide World Manufacturing Forum Foundation with an original high-quality copy of their video (uncompressed video file) within 15 days before the WMF event in Cernobbio.

Selection Steps

  • In July 2018 the submitted entries will be judged by the World Manufacturing Foundation jury. The jury will select up to 3 finalists, who will be contacted by the e-mail address provided in the submission

  • The top three Contest finalists will participate to the final selection. The final selection will take place during the World Manufacturing Forum 2018 (27-28 September, Villa Erba, Cernobbio – Italy), where the three videos will be projected in loop during the 2 days event. The videos will be voted by the World Manufacturing Forum audience. The three finalists are automatically invited to participate to the World Manufacturing Forum in Cernobbio.

Prize

  • The best World Manufacturing Forum 2018 Video Contest entry will be awarded a prize of 5.000 €.

Legal Rules & Regulations

  • By entering the Video Contest, Participants acknowledge compliance with these Official Rules, including all eligibility and copyright requirements as well as all regulations concerning the use of the submitted videos by World Manufacturing Forum Foundation.

  • Videos must only contain original works (including but not limited to music, texts, artworks, graphics, photographs, and video footage) created by the Participant, works licensed to the Participant or public domain works;

  • By submitting a Contest entry, each Participant grants, approves, and authorizes World Manufacturing Forum Foundation the irrevocable right to use, broadcast, webcast, podcast, link to or from, or otherwise exhibit, distribute, or display the submitted video in its original or shortened form in connection with non-commercial, educational, and outreach purposes.

  • In particular, at any time World Manufacturing Forum Foundation may upload, copy, reproduce, display, or distribute the submitted video, transmit the video by telecommunication, or make the video accessible and available on the World Manufacturing Forum Foundation, YouTube Channel, or by any other means in connection with non-commercial, educational, and outreach purposes without further notice or compensation to the Participants.

  • In connection with promoting or marketing the Contest, World Manufacturing Forum Foundation may also cut, translate, podcast, link to or from, or otherwise exhibit, distribute, or display the resulting modified video. In particular, World Manufacturing Forum Foundation may use the original video or video clips for creating snapshots, trailers, promotion clips, or similar without further notice or compensation to the Participants.

  • Each Participant grants World Manufacturing Forum Foundation the unqualified, unrestricted, worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual, and royalty-free right to use his or her name, logo, submission entries, and other limitation and without further notice or compensation.

  • World Manufacturing Forum Foundation is under obligation to use the videos or the Contest entries as provided herein. In particular, World Manufacturing Forum Foundation has no obligation to post or display any submitted video or contest entry.
