Global Head & Managing Partner Strategic Business Development,
IBM’s Watson Internet of Things Business

Sanjay is equipped with over 20 years’ worth of experience in complex IT led Transformation Management in a range of industries. His experience is widespread, ranging across supply chain management, BPR, programme and project management. In addition to this, he has experience in the array of IT advisory, consulting and systems delivery work, including outsourcing.
 

Currently, Sanjay is Global Head & Managing Partner Strategic Business Development for IBM’s Watson Internet of Things Business and in that is responsible to build, lead and transform the Internet of Things Business for IBM around the world. In this high priority and key growth business Sanjay is helping to drive business into a new era of cognitive, helping “clients unlock value in new insights ”from the massive amount of data they generate each day.
 

He has had several different roles at IBM prior to joining the Watson IoT team including: General Manager & Managing Partner for the Europe GBS in the Industrial sector; Vice President, Europe Chemicals & Petroleum Industry Leader (GBS); Vice President of the Industrial Sector for UKI GBS and Vice President in GBS for the Oil & Gas account.

 

Prior to Sanjay’s extensive and thriving IBM career, he worked in other renowned companies including PwC as Managing Consultant and Fedex Supply Chain Services as the General Manager for Belgium (where he led a team of 500, delivering Supply Chain Services in Belgium for large Telecom multinational). In addition to this, he has also worked in The Netherlands as a Business Manager for DSM and in India for Honda as Business Development Manager, which highlights the international presence within his career.

 

From an educational perspective, Sanjay’s MBA in Finance & Marketing from the University of Leeds (1997) and a Bachelor of Civil Engineering from Delhi College of Engineering (1992) taught him how to develop new value propositions and go to market strategy for the services and building new client relationships.
