Ken Jacobson, the senior editor of Manufacturing & Technology News, is a Philadelphia-based journalist who has been a reporter and editor for a number of publications covering business, technology, and economics. He has been chief editor of two specialized newsletters, New York-based Metals Week and Washington, DC-based New Technology Week, and has reported from Paris for Business Week and from Amsterdam for the Associated Press.
Currently an associate of the nonprofit Academic-Industry Research Network (AIRnet), he served between 2007 and 2011 as an investigator on the Democratic staff of U.S. House of Representatives’ Science and Technology Committee. Jacobson has also been a contributor to numerous published reports of the National Academies’ Board on Science, Technology, and Economic Policy (STEP Board), and is the author of the 1994 book Embattled Selves: An Investigation into the Nature of Identity Through Oral Histories of Holocaust Survivors (Atlantic Monthly Press).
He is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley.
