Public Accountant from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey (1966), and a Master’s in Public Administration from John F. Kennedy School of Government of Harvard University (2005).

He is currently Secretary of Economic Development of the State Government of Nuevo Leon, role in the public administration that has taken after a long career and business experience, which has allowed him to apply to public administration a vision and approach oriented in results.

In 1992 founded KATCON, a company dedicated to the manufacture of catalytic converters for the automotive industry. With an innovative and efficient vision achieved a constant growth of the company, achieving the recognition of global customers such as General Motors, which awarded with “Supplier of the Year” in several years. In 2009 takes the opportunity and the challenge of expanding the company globally. KATCON currently operates plants in Mexico, Poland, China, Australia, India, Korea and the United States and has research centers in Mexico, China, Luxembourg and the United States.

His entrepreneurial talent has led him to develop other projects that stand out in the agribusiness sector and real state among others, why has received several awards and prizes as Entrepreneur of the Year awarded by Ernest & Young Mexico.

His business experience dates back to 1966 when he began working at “Altos Hornos de Mexico”, biggest steel company in México by that time, where reached the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and Member of board of directors of 35 associated companies, later in 1976 joined as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to “Grupo Industrial Alfa”, a major corporate business.

In 2006 founded the National Association of Independent Businessman, a nonprofit organization which seeks economic public policy proposal in representation of businessman. He has been editorialist of several print media and speaker in forums and academic institutions. He was professor at the Graduate School of Management of Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. In 2012 collaborated in the development of economic proposal for a presidential candidate and was member of advisors board.

He is member of various associations and foundations, one of them is RENACE, where joined as a member of the board, foundation that provides counseling and legal defense for low income people and main driving force to establish oral trials in the country.
