Vice President of Technology and Quality, TimkenSteel
Raymond V. Fryan is vice president of technology and quality. In this role he safeguards and continually grows the core knowledge that makes TimkenSteel an industry leader while also maintaining discipline in the systems that deliver consistent quality.
Most recently, he served in a similar role when the steel business was part of The Timken Company. A career metallurgist recognized across the industry, Ray has spent his career advancing steel production and processes, quality systems and materials technology. He also champions continuous process improvement.
Ray holds a bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering from Grove City College and a master's degree and doctorate in material science and engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He is a graduate of the Executive Development for Global Excellence program at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
Ray serves as treasurer of the ASM International Board of Trustees. He is also an avid runner and Boston Marathon finisher.
