Abraham Tijerina has been recently appointed Coordinator of Strategy Industry 4.0 for the state of Nuevo Leon (Mexico). Previously, Coordinator of Innovation Management process at Metalsa SA de CV, leading global company for Design, Development and Manufacturing of Automotive Structural Components. He has being worked at Metalsa since 1992 and has occupied different positions in Engineering, Technology and Innovation groups, and has been responsible to grow and to establish three technical centers, two in Mexico and one in the USA. Among his main activities are the Integration and Management of Metalsa’s Innovation Project Portfolio, Technology and Engineering Processes, Collaboration Programs with Technological Partners and Universities, Intellectual Property Portfolio, External Funding for Innovation. Mr. Tijerina has served as Member of the Technical Board of Mexico’s National Technology Award Foundation and the NanoTechnology Cluster. Currently at the Automotive Cluster, the Industrial Chamber in the estate of Nuevo Leon, Mexico’s Auto Part and OEM innovation committees and Chairman of the international organization Intelligent Manufacturing System (IMS).
He received his M.Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Tecnológico de Monterrey (ITESM) and his Mechanical Engineering degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo Leon, both in Mexico.
